The term "race conscious boricua" itself makes jibaro sound very odd and weird for a borie. All Bories I've known are just like Dominicans where we think of ourselves as a unique people who even in phenotype variance are one people, it's what made our islands the way they are.
I know this, I am not like other boricuas, I have said I am agisnt "boricua norms" as I don't behave typical for a boricua, I like to be more alone while the typical ones loves to be on a pack, I read educational books while a typical boricua read tv guia, vea, tv y novelas and other gossip magazines, and I have this racial consciousness that boricuas doesn't have, I am not liked by many of my fellow boricuas for that, but you know what, I enjoy it, why, because I wanted to be different from the rest, unique from the rest, I was this way since chilhood, If there is a group or pack of people, you wuill see me on a corner far from the people, that is how I am, I am different from the typical boricua, I don't have the typical behavior or care to have it, it has given me problems in relations with my fellows, but that is me and people will have to acept me the way I am, I know you will be a bit bothered that I have to lurk into someone profile page to see it and aswer, but I am of the people when I have an issue with someone, I say it to the person and not to second or thirds, and I expect the same courtesy.Si, yo no soy el tipico boricua que ven por ahi, yo soy diferente, yo estoy en contra de la corriente, pero asi soy, siempre lo he sido, no me gusta el grupo y me gusta estar solo la mayoria del tiempo, y que, le molesta alguien aqui que sea asi, a mi no me gusta tampoco como la gente actua, pero ese es problema de ellos, si, he tendio coflictos con mi gente boricua por esto, pero que, yo no tengo que seguir la norma de nadie, yo soy yo, y me gusta ser individual y sr diferente, me gusta leer libros y periodicos en vez de revista de chismes como la mayoria, me gusta la musica clasica y no el reguaeton y que, me gusta estar tranquilo y no el alboroto, y que, asi soy, el que no le guste que bregue con eso.
