Bet I made with my Step Dad

This morning my Step Dad and I were talking about ancestry and my mothers ethnicity. My Step Dad says that my mother is a Russian of full european descent and ancestry. I say She is Ashkenazi Jewish with European and far back Middle Eastern ancestors. We made a bet with $50 that I say my mom has middle eastern ancestry far back and my Step Dad says she is of full Russian descent, Who do you think wins the bet, me or my step Dad?

Oh Gawd! I 1st read "I made-up with my Step Dad". :lol: On the subject(but purely my opinion without any knowledge about your family): Your dad will win the bet 'cause judaism is just a religion.

And supposedly it's a fact that all people come from "south"(aka Africa),so depends how far back you're willing to go with the bet in number of years or generations. :D

Based on Mt-DNA, statistically your mother is more likely to have Mid-Eastern DNA lineage, although a European lineage is certainly possible(As I have found out from my own).
When it comes to blood however, I can say with 99% certainty that your mother, and you, are mixed.

My fathers side is completely European, so I am something like 25-30% Middle Eastern and 70-75% European?
