Hello guys!

I just saw this study.
http://mbe.oxfordjournals.org/content/26/5/1017.full.pdf+html

Look at TABLE 1, it appears yoruba are closer to australian, then east asians/europeans are.

How can this be? Arent australoids(papuan/australians aborigines) the most distant to africans?

On the Denisova study (supp table s 6.2) papuan are more distant to africans (yoruba), then frence/han is.

So really what ethnic group is most distant to africans? could somebody please explain this to me?

It is for West African descended people like me... I'm gonna do a McDonald test and African Ancestry Project... And compare them

Papuans (Australoids) are genetically more divergent from Africans than East Asians and Europeans are.

From the Denisova paper (http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v468/n7327/extref/nature09710-s1.pdf):

Papuan divergence to Yoruba .0842 to San .0933
French divergence to Yoruba .0812 to San .0907 (closer to Africans)
Han divergence to Yoruba .0811 to San .0907 (closer to Africans)

^I believe these figures are based on complete genomes. Your other link is just based on microsatellites.
