West Papua - Genocide by Demographics
If present demographic trends continue, West Papua (formerly Irian Jaya) will be majority Indonesian (mostly Javanese) Muslim by 2011, and the indigenous Melanesian predominantly Protestant Christian Papuans will be a dwindling 15 percent minority by 2030, reports Elizabeth Kendal, World Evangelical Alliance Religious Liberty Commission (WEA RLC), special to ASSIST News Service (http://www.assistnews.net/). This was recently forecast in a conference at the University of Sydney (NSW, Australia) by Political Scientist Dr Jim Elmslie of the West Papua Project, which is based at the University of Sydney Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies (CPACS).

Comparable i suppose to population policies by China and former USSR to reduce ethnic majorities in their autonomous regions. I guess also continuation of millennia long expansion of austronesians at the expense of retreating melanesians.
Haplogroups
There are 6 main Y-chromosome haplogroups in Western New Guinea Y-chromosome haplogroup M is the most popular, with Y-chromosome haplogroup O2a as a small minority in second place and Y-chromosome haplogroup S back in third position across the mountain highlands; while D, C2 and C4 are of negligible numbers.
Haplogroup M is the most frequently occurring Y-chromosome haplography in Western New Guinea.[21]. In a 2005 study of Papua New Guinea’s ASPM gene variants, Mekel-Bobrov et al. found that the Papuan people have among the highest rate of the newly-evolved ASPM haplogroup D, at 59.4% occurrence of the approximately 6,000-year-old allele.[22].
Haplogroup O2a (M95) is typical of Austro-Asiatic peoples, Kradai peoples, Malays, Indonesians, and Malagasy, with a moderate distribution throughout South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Central Asia.
Haplogroup S occurs in eastern Indonesia (10–20%) and Island Melanesia (~10%), but reaches greatest frequency in the highlands of Papua New Guinea (52%).
Ahead of recent indonesian transmigration, already some austronesian markers. It seems logical to assume that westpapuans have been more admixed with austronesians than people from papua new guinea.
Looking at the pictures, some of the people look familiar to me and less recognisably "papuan". I'd say many could pass as new world blacks, specifically from latin america.
