Here are some highlights of the report and of the Eurobarometer (EB):

68% of the poll thinks that legal immigrants should have the same rights as their own national citizens. Four in ten Europeans (42%) think the EU should encourage labour migration from non EU countries to help tackle demographic challenges and labour shortages, with 46% disagreeing.

Eight Europeans in ten (80%) think that the EU should increase its assistance to Member States to handle irregular migration. 78% think that the cost of handling irregular migration should be shared among EU Member States.

53% of the poll thinks that immigration enriches EU countries economically and culturally. 60% of the Europeans believe immigrants may face integration difficulties because of discrimination.

80% of the poll thinks that EU Member States should offer protection and asylum to those in need. Eight Europeans in ten think that the number of asylum seekers should be more equally shared among EU Member States.

I think that we should abolish the welfare state and then have an open border policy.

Get lost:mad:

What exactly would be the problem with such a policy?

No more leeching immigrants who don't even speak our language.
Plenty of hardworking immigrants who can help the economy and pay their way.

Many immigrants are illegals who don't pay tax or "their way".

Illegals immigrants who don't pay tax and have not any right are a good deal.

Tax is forced theft by the government obtained using their monopoly on force.

Although illegal immigrants also pay taxes right when they consume goods and services. The good thing they do not have any labor rights which are particularly expensive here in Sweden and Denmark.

Well, it's different when you view immigration from countries that aren't the main entrance of immigrants in Europe.

I like how Cyprus is totally against immigration even though they are half-Turks and not really in Europe geographically.

Probably because they already know what it is like to be fucked by turks/middle easterners. And they don't want anymore of it. Lesson learned, so to speak.

Or maybe the simple fact that Cyprus is full of immigrants (130.000 in a total of 800.000) + also that Greek Cypriots suffered an invasion. There are lot of refugees inside the island because of this.

Who cares where is Cyprus geographically? Immigration problems can exist everywhere.

People are only spouting what they are expected to say.

With massive youth unemployment in most of the EU, immigration from outside the EU is madness.

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/278148/Turkish-killer-handed-British-passport/

Granting citizenship to the people seeking for asylum can bring too many problems for the society.

To speak on behalf of my country, all of those asylum seekers are Kurdish killer, terrorist, thief etc.

The policy of UK , Germany and France on the issue is based on hidden support they give to terrorist organisations to weaken Turkey .

Now they have many killers carrying European passport.
