What would had happened to the USSR if Trotsky had taken the power instead of Stalin?
Based on the historical accounts Trotsky was more loyal to the original premise of the Soviets and the Leninist ideology. He was a better strategist then Stalin also.

Trotsky would have done the same in economical issues, in spite of the human costs. Realize he wasn't reluctant to kill if that was necessary, let's remember what happened in Kronsdadt Island. But unlike Stalin, who has always been an insane man (for example, he had sexual relationships with a 14-year-old child when he was young and deported to Siberia), people like Zinoviev or Kamenev wouldn't have killed. I'm wondering besides about the Holodomor... as I have been told, it was an idea of Stalin to get rid of Ukrainian rebelions...
... and that's all... the USSR would have failed anyway because socialist economy doesn't work.

Trotsky was a genocide that killed 250,000 Ukrainian peasants anarchists, by shootings, burning of villages and use of toxic gases. Thre arent indication that he might be better than Stalin.
And their ideology is the basis of "progressive" social engineering today.

I agree but let me say how "anarchist societies", like Somalia or Haiti, don't work either.

He'd be killed. Stalin just masterfulluy used frustration of former Russian peasantry part of Soviet bureacracy with Jews. Trotsky was a "thinker" (with huge brackets) and a sadist. While Stalin was also sadistic he had a much better idea of how to rule masses than Trotsky.

I understand that you hate the anarchists because they were anti Catalan nationalism, but...you have to say the same on this thread too, having nothing to do?
Trotsky was spreading the idea of the isolation of the USSR economically and that a state alone can not turn succesfuly to a socialist society. That was very against Lenin

That's explained in his book "permanent revolution", when he thought how only workers in the whole world would rise up at the same time. However, present anthropology has shown how we only have empathy towards people genetically close to us... "Guettos" of minorities are not an evil conspiracy from governments, really.

Let me check the wikipedia, but I am almost sure Trotsky ideals were to expand the USSR ideology to other countries. Trotsky and Lenin shared similar views because they were Bolsheviks, Stalin was not a Bolshevik.

That's what Aliya means: Trotsky was afraid of the fall of socialism due to the USSR's isolation.
The fact is socialist ideas died after the Second World War and the birth of the middle class, when people were already able to buy everything they produce.

Yes, you are right. I misunderstood her post.
If Trotsky had taken power, the USSR would have been crushed by Nazi Germany in WW2 because Trotsky wanted to preserve the decentralized state of the economy that existed before Stalin and had no interest in industrialization and centralizing the management of resources, two features of Stalin's rule that were crucial to mounting a defense against, and defeating the German military.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shortage_economyThat link provides a descriptive account of effects produced by some problems encountered in centrally planned economies. It gives no explanatory account of the matter whatsoever, and therefore your claim is completely unsubstantiated.
But of course parroting popular belief is much easier than actually doing your homework on the matter, so there is nothing to be surprised about here.
