View Full Version : The least insecure people on earth?
So far were several topics about racial, national or ethnic insecurities. But how about opposite - the lack of such insecurities? I believe that there exist a portion of people, who don't have to be insecure about almost anything. One of such people, I believe, are Swiss-born people, especially German-speaking ones. I just can't imagine, what they could be insecure about. They are text-book white. They have not done any real physical crime against other nations in the past (they have not colonised anything, they didn't have Nazi or whatever regime, they didn't participate in wars for several hundreds years etc.). They have lived in free country for centuries, they have not been really occupied by nobody. They are rich. Their country is beautiful and wonderful. They have long track of written history. They have rich cultural heritage. They have important headquarters in their country, including those of UN, Red Cross and Olympic Comitee. Their country is world-wide holiday destination. Swiss people can be proud about so many things, and almost nothing to be ashamed or insecured about!
BTW have you noticed that we don't have members from Switzerland here in this forum? :lol:
What you think, which else people could be free from insecurities?

I would say Americans as a nationalities. There are quite a few people who are secure as a nationality. But not by their race. Some Africans as well. Nigerians, etc. Also some people who have little insecurities have arrogance.

It's an empty-chested sort of arrogance which is easily deflated if you stand up to them.

They could be insecure for actually not being considered really Germans, for not being part of Germany, and for having a stupid accent.
I believe the "least insecure" people of Europe, are the Dutch.

That's the last thing they'd actually want. German-speaking Swiss are very keen in that they're not Germans. I know several of them personally. And their dialect is not a "stupid accent", it's about as distant from standard German as Dutch is (i'm speaking about vernacular language, literary standard is still the Hochdeutsch).
I think people from Tibet are the least insecure people on the planet. Every documentary I have seen of Tibetan people they seem so content with their lot in life.

Yeah, I agee with you that Tibetans are the least insecure.
There is likely a reason for this. For Tibetans have much higher levels of Nitric Oxide in their blood which helps them adapt & breathe in cold air in High Elevations.
The Tibetans also show higher levels of nitric oxide, a molecule that may help get more oxygen to tissues and prevent polycythemia

O.K. could be, but I think it's because they're so isolated from the rest of the world. On the other hand, North Koreans are very isolated, but they also live under a totalitarian dictator. Tibet has a different government/social structure.

Papau New Gunieans & Andamanese Islanders are very isolated & they don't seem very secure.
Especially Andmanese Islanders. & are known for Cannibalism.

Did you ever watch that program, "Meet the Natives" that came on the Travel Channel? Those people from Vanuatu seemed also very secure with themselves and their surroundings, even when they traveled out of their element to the USA. There was also another program where two guys would go to some remote area and have to live with an indigenous tribe. I think the more removed a group is from the pressures of modern society, the more secure they are.

Yeah I have seen some of the Meet the Natives Espisodes. Not the Vanatu one though.
Some of the tribes seemed pretty secure.
Yes, the USA & Western Culture in general creates alot of insecurities. We feel insecure of losing what we have.
We feel insecure about others having more. We feel insecure about alot of things as swe know more.
Advertisements in general play on our very insecurities in general. Our very society is based on insecurities.
So, I do think in general we have more Insecurities.
But, I still think in general Tibetans seem to be far more Secure than other isolated Oceanic people like Papau New Guniea

The program was on National Geographic but maybe they just took it from Discovery since I saw some shows being "shared" by both channels....those natives were very clever and humane,also nice pork eaters,and that's a good thing. ;)

It's about LEAST insecure aka "the most secured",fat people usually have something wrong in their lives,since being fat is like being sick... but talking about insecurity: 'FAT PEOPLE' -most americans are perceived as being fat,but fats don't make gay parades to pretend they are proud,or bs-ing about ancient greek history to justify their behavior ...so maybe gays and lesbians are. ;) or maybe women 'cause they are obsessed with fat or 'looking good'.
Nigerian people have the least insecurities. Theyre hardworkers and are fun, cool people to hang out with.

Nigerians and hardwork is just oxymoron. They are drug dealer and where ever they go, they do have a bad image. but i am sure they are fun to hang out with.
