Default Do people really just bring racism upon themselves nowadays or no?

I will post a poll with this.

In the past few days I had the opportunity to go to New Jersey for some event (college related). Some users on here told me my kind (Indian people) are extremely hated in that state and a TIME magazine article kind of hinted at that. Going to NJ I was conscious, told myself "okay, they are going to hate you just because of your ethnic background, stay cool and ignore if possible".

Well I went to New Jersey and stayed at this place and I noticed that the place had some Indians, East Asians, and White people in it. I went to the place and at a store there saw at least two couples in which the guy was Indian and woman was East Asian. I ODDLY saw some couples where the woman was Indian and man was East Asian (Asian guy with Indian girl wasn't that rare).

I noticed that a lot of the older Indians would act EXTREMELY rude towards Indian girls and Indian boys who would date interracial, one Indian (wore retro clothes and looked fresh off the boat) started insulting this other Indian guy who was with an Asian girl and called him all sorts of names in Hindi (called him a dog and stuff).

Basically, Indians who were assimilated and hung out with other groups seemed to face no racism (I even talked to this one Indian guy who was waiting on his girlfriend, seemed like she was White, Hispanic, or Middle Eastern something).

One person who was Indian there, I asked him about how much racism he has faced in New Jersey. He said the area is very racist, it is so racist that people try to look to him for help when they need medical advice because they think all Indians are somehow doctors, we laughed. He said the Indians who face racism there deserve the racism they face because a lot of them fail to assimilate.

Made me think, do people really bring the racism upon themselves or is it just there?

Well, I knew a Middle Eastern girl who used to talk shit about white people 24/7, then complain about how whites treated her and being the victim of racist pranks at school.

But I know other Middle Eastern people who have no such problems. They're nice, she was a bitch.
I'm not a bitch, you're just angry I see through all your bullshit.
