    O Rh neagtive.

All my family except my father are O negative (universal donors).

I think O -ve is the autoclothonus blood group of Europe?

I wouldn't say that, O is fairly uncommon amongst all Caucasian groups, it reaches it's highest Frequencies in Native Americans where it can reach 100% in some clans.

Hi Wulffie, Yes that's true but I meant the combination of blood group O and Rhesus negative factor. If you read up on it you will find that this phenoytpe (O -ve) is common in Basque peoples of Europe.

Yes, that's possible, O- is the most common amongst Whites, and one could assume the type is present in Hispanic and Africans due to Caucasian admixture?

In South and Central America, IIRC, O was the only native blood type, and A and B were both introduced only by outsiders.

father is A2, mother is O. Mine is O according to 23&me. I am not sure about the rh part though.

It seems like O is the Oldest and A, B and combos are relatively newer for humans. I guess by looking at the lack of A or B in the Americas is an indicator that these evolved after 15000 years ago at the earliest.

I can give blood to anyone but can only take my own kind.

You can only be a universal donor if you are O Rhesus -ve. If you are not sure that you are in fact Rhesus -ve then you can't lay claim to what you have said.

    Default A+

Alpha plus, according to my dog tags and Alpha, according to 23andme.
Principle: No post of mine will be augmented with information external to myself (excluding links to previously understood knowledge). I will not search for any new information prior to, and associated with, a particular post, which could create the false impression that I possess more knowledge than I really do.
