    They could have more Indian ancestry. One of my maternal great grandmothers was Dougla. But she was 3/4 East Indian 1/4 Black and she looked like she was from Madras or Sri Lanka. Her father was half Black half Indian and had an English surname.

    Black phenotype is generally dominant when mixed with anything Indian.
