Gus can you post some example pictures of Pontids, so I can see the clear diffence between Pontids and Alpines, as I usually don't see a big difference.
The difference might not always be as pronounced for you if you see the two components combined with each other so much. In essence there is quite a distinction between the two. Pontids are dolicocephalic while Alpinoids are clearly brachycephalic. Hyllus's example of the Pontid type should be adequate enough for now. Hyllus would you mind uploading any Alpinoid types or types that you see as an Alpinoid for reference because I can not get anything to upload right now.
Pontid aka Pontic Mediterranid: tall Mediterranid sub-variety with long face, long skull, low vault, long prominent nose, from dark to intermediate complexion.
Alpinoid: brachymorphic and semi-phoetalized sub-variety of the Upper Palaeolithic racial stock (round skull, broad face, short and often broad nose, often intermediate but variable complexion).
Most people I see being classified as Pontid have the 'Pontid nose' imo, like these women posted above as well. The nose is not too long and not too short, a high nasal bridge, a bit "pointy" (if I can put it that way) and 'small/thin'.
It's an overall nice nose imo, don't know if there is much truth in this, but it's what I have observed.
Here's two photo's of my boyfriend, whom has that type of nose imo and has been classified as Pontid (with other elements as well).
