Why are others "xenophobic" where whites are "racist"? Media bias example.
Examples, xenophobia is mentioned often in news articles about Japan, South Korea, China, South Africa etc.
While in Europe, North America, AU etc, we often see the word racism in place of xenophobia, while the scenarios evoking usage are identical or often times more severe for the "xenophobic" non-white offenders.
Is this a conscious or subconscious choice made by the news writers?
What would the reactions be if these words were reversed?
It could be because whites themselves often place more emphasis on race.

I think it is a conscious choice that has its basis on the accounted historical atrocities sourced by certain European nations in the past 200 or so years, namely, the pubescent galloping of civilized Europeans thru ought the globe as if they owned it.

I cant speak for anybody else, but I can tell you what my reaction would be, all racisim is not created equal, all racism does not stem from the same root i.e. cultural setting, some racism is mild and has minimal effect on the victims life, while other type of racism has maximum effect, including ruining entire countries. So whether you call it xenophobia or racism, it has to be congruent and reflective of the effect it imparts on the victim.
I think it is because it is acceptable to most to speak derogatorily about the white man, to villify him, and blame him for all the problems of the former colonies, even after hundreds of years of freedom in many cases.
Obsolete ways of life always experience painful adjustments when new ways are introduced, but this is necessary for progress to occur. This has been happening throughout human history and is absolutely essential for evolution.
If northern races practiced some form of apartheid and stayed in the north we would diverge and become separate species before too long.
Anything white man ever did was also done by the northern asians also, but nobody complains about them.
White man is the civilizer.
Jealousy and envy are natural responses, and hate follows unavoidably. Where would the world be if white man completely turned his back on the rest of the world? Look at Zimbabwe, Haiti etc. for a good indication. Much of the world depends on our charity and technology.
Look at any list of the bloodiest conflicts in world history and you will be surprised to see that europeans do not figure as prominently as one would suspect.

To answer the question: I think it has to do with that white racism is the most widely known and therefore it looks bad to accuse others of something you've done yourself.

Middle East and Mediterranean peoples tought Nordics the basis of Civilization.
Please, be more specific when you talk about the "white man", because the Barbarians of northern Europe lived worst than Haitians, Africans and other poor peoples of today, when the gentle Meds gave those poor barbarians of the North the basis of a civilization.

Anyway. I already stated what I think about the original topic.
Xenophobic is a Serb that hates Albanians, he can't be a racist because Albanianas are the same race as him. If he was a racist he would hate his own race. But he's a xenophobic because he hates the Albanian national identity because it's foreign to Serb, despite being genetically similar.
Now, a Colombian Mestizo that hates a Colombian black is indeed a racist, because they have both the same National identity, but the Mestizo hates him because his Negroid racial characteristics and probably feels superior to him in some ways or another. That's indeed a racist.
