I'm Asian and I do it all the time lol!
Could it be because of my Jamaican friends or that i've been showered in Jamaican Dancehall culture for most of my life?
I dunno, all I know is if I'm angry or pissed off at somebody it's just like a natural reaction lol
i don't know if its an african thing or if its more of just something that people are programmed to do when annoyed, like when you roll your eyes or cross your arms etc. these are pretty much universal signals that you are displeased or annoyed.

Wow. I didn't know it was that widespread. Maybe Jamaicans, Caribbeans and West Africans are pissed more often because I'm sure they do it a lot more than everyone else.
Seems like a random/weird signal for being annoyed. If it is so widespread, maybe it is programmed into us...but I think it started somewhere, most likely West Africa since they do it all the time and so do West Indians.
I don't think rolling your eyes is programmed into people, but that's nearly universal. If you went to some isolated tribe in Brazil, I doubt the kids are rolling their eyes at their parents.

.
I always think its cool when I watch like, Nigerian movies and the way people say things - intonations, hand movements, certain sounds (like EH eh!? when you can't believe someone just did or said something), steups, general loudness (lol) - and it reminds me of my family. You know EXACTLY who we got it from.
