Why are Afram rappers interested in our gangster/drug lord stereotyped image?
Why? I've heard so many rap songs and "thug" Aframs make references in comparing themselves to Colombians. And this is one of the latest songs from a Carol City Afram rapper, he called it Bogota.
Maybe it's due to the history the country has with drug trafficking?
Why do Afram "thugs" and rappers think it's cool though? It ain't cool! They don't know what a real drug lord is. They've never dealt with mass murder and kidnappings if you don't cooperate with armed groups.
Well, it is because America is addicted to drugs, and they know who the true drugs kings are, and apparently they are sitting in the halls of Washington DC. They are the true drug lords, the ones in Columbia and elsewhere are basically small fish in a sophisticated pond.
During his tenure in the CIA, and even as President he helped establish what is going on today, hence the true drug lord! Remember Noriega. There are tons of information out there about first Bush involvement in the drug trade, which is a almost a establish fact. Therefore, remember corruption is definitely a two way street!
excerpt from wikipedia "Numerous sources indicate the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has been involved in several drug trafficking operations. The claims go that the CIA worked with groups which it knew were involved in drug trafficking, so that these groups would provide them with useful intelligence and material support, in exchange for allowing their criminal activities to continue,[1] and impeding or preventing their arrest, indictment, and imprisonment by U.S. law enforcement agencies"
rappers idolize successful criminals, ever heard of "Murder Inc", Irv "Gotti" etc? Look up any notorious gangster on wikipedia and there will be a list of hip hop songs they've been referenced in

I'm stereotyping here: Drugs sex and money is what they fancy.
