I believe in respect towards elders and I think it is missing thing in many places of the world now. The same with parents, however I would say that respect should be mutual and abusive or violent parents do not deserve respect- I think you need to earn respect by your behaviour, not by very fact of being a parent.
Anyway, in older ages in Europe kids were treated with no mercy, its only now it is inverted, when kids are often spoilt.
To the subject- I think its just matter of tradition and perception. If washing parents feet is common or normal in China, noone would give it another meaning, while when its less popular in other areas, it would be probably given another meaning. Some people have to do much 'worse' things with their parents- when they are ill or weak- change napies and wash their bottoms- but its a different thing.
Its like a circle, when you are a baby, parents wash you and when they are dying you wash them.
Am I right or am I wrong?

Some Asian neolithic cultures in China show that they were matriarchal societies, especially one of China's oldest and largest neolithic culture known as the Yangshao culture was a matriarchal society. Before the establishment of CCP, many southwestern ethnic groups in China were highly matriarchal and some of these ethnic groups still practice such system.

In fact, my people went from being a matriarchal culture to a patriarchal culture due to invaders and outsiders.

Many tribes in North-eastern India are matriarchal. Apart from that, some castes in south-western India were matriarchal, they transformed into patriarchal society because of influence of mainstream Indians.

Yes. I agree with you. The dominant group in power is in fact a patriarchal culture which is why they are able to dominate over and gain power.

Patriarchal societies are societies that tend to migrate or societies that move from one place to the next (HISTORICALLY).

If you look into various cultures in Africa, tribesmen or those ethnic groups that do annually or constant migration tend to be very structure in the patriarchal system.

ex: Mongols, Arabs, Plain Natives (plain American Indians)
