    Default New mthap tool

There is a new version of mthap (notice mthap-new in the url) to analyze your MtDNA results preferably the FGS with the latest PyloTree MtDNA Build 14 dated April 5th. There are lots of new terminal haplogroups in most European haplogroups.

Note this is the test version and may contain issues. It worked correctly predicting my terminal haplogroup H5a1f !

The older version of mthap has the PyloTree 13 Build.

I ran my FASTA thru the new mthap for Build 14.

    H1c12
Since my Genbank Accession number was cited in PhyloTree, I already knew that, but it's great to see it confirmed again.

    A perfect match to H1as1.
"It doesn't seem to me that this fantastically marvelous universe, this tremendous range of time and space and different kinds of animals, and all the different planets, and all these atoms with all their motions, and so on, all this complicated thing can merely be a stage so that God can watch human beings struggle for good and evil — which is the view that religion has. The stage is too big for the drama." - Richard Feynman

    23andme data says likely V1a

FTDNA says HV0a or different subgroups of V - to many untested markers; two extra mutations

FTDNA in the past had very good (~35% off) various test on DNA Day which is April 20th this year. You can also call them on the phone and they will probably extend the sale to all products. I was able to get my MtDNA FGS last year for $199.

I would prefer to do my Y-DNA then. But 70€ on the deep clade is still not an acceptable pricing.

Deep clade is useless. We're actually not too far away from very comprehensive R1a1a tests at reasonable prices, so waiting is the only option unless you're really bored.

But, since your paternal line is of Sorb descent, you might want to check whether the R1a1a subclades project could sponsor a couple of SNP tests, like for M458 and Z280. There's not a single Sorb lineage in the project, and it would certainly be a valuable addition to help figure out which R1a1a subclades in Germany are of West Slavic descent.

You are funny. What else than West-Slavic could my Y-DNa be. Swedish or Hunnic maybe.

What company would you propose to do the test with? At FTDNA I think I can also order individual SNPs and STR. Which ones would be most useful?

    SNP Z280 $29.00
    SNP M458 $29.00

    Where is this project?
