Yeah actually I liked Mary for the most part. The only issue I had was when she would derail certain threads when people would nibble on her bait. She rarely would derail ex. a DNA thread which is something Jale did constantly.

Mary, is any day better then idiots like Jale. At least she spoke sense at times, and could read and analyze data. She also provided links, just that her ideology was different, which is fine. Jale, on the other hand was a moronic dumb ass, who thought Iran ruled the world or something. Plus 90% of the time he knew nothing what he was typing, and sided with people (irrespective what they typed); just to hit back on nations which he thought should bow down to him/Iran. FFS, he said, the IVC is an Iranian thing. Lame.

Not sure, how pictures with anagrams/text, is going to sieve out trolls. Many people never put up images for classification, and still troll away. See Razor Blade, or even Jale for that matter.

Ok I understand she was funny in a way and enterntaining, but we all know she would lie like a cheap rug, on the spot and constantly, the only difference was that her lies were from category 'one level higher', like manipulated statistics, creating non-existing facts or claiming something as proven when it wasnt proven etc.
She was not daft obviously but she relied on others giving up to confront it.

What kind of? Its not like you have to give your bank details, also people dont have to post pictures, they can stay 'pictureless', but when they want to show 'their' pictures.

Obviously, there are still ways around, to say 'it is my sister/my friend' etc, but at least its open and clear.

Actually it was mainly about 'classify me' guess me' thing, not the access as such. I amm not saying its the best suggestion in the world and perfect, but some point of start

I was never all that bothered by Mary, to be honest. Her thread derailment was annoying, but that's all I can really think of at the moment. I know that she hated me for being a Jew/non-Euro ubermensch/etc, but she never seemed particularly spiteful or rabid about it.

There are some things I disagree with her from her thread with but I feel paralyzed when I want to argue/counter. Is she considered real or a troll?


Anyway, back to topic. This new rule is seriously being considered? Is it retroactive? Do I have to get a camera and post a pic? This computer doesn't have a webcam. Also, I don't have a static IP address, so would I have to do that each time I log in from a different IP? It's always thru Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go.

What about a computer-generated "captcha" that the person has to write on a piece of paper along with their username to confirm registration?


I have another laptop, it's netbook with a webcam but I'd have to go to a wifi hot spot to use that. I never used the webcam before. Or am I exempt from this because I'm already registered here?

No, that is not the suggestion. When people put pictures of themselves, then they need to do, what the OP is suggesting. Though many -will- not, and still be members.
