    Ok, how about this:

All, but 1 of the women I worked with for 2 years in a "posh" establishment all had C-sections. Every single one of them.
Do you know how many there were? over 200 of them...

My friend and I went on a mission to ask every single mother in the establishment whether she had a normal birth or a C section.
The 1 woman that had the normal birth(s) had both her kids in America.

Doctors want money, they make up really dumb excuses to ensure they mke that 7000tl extra.

ALl the women gave birth at private hospitals..maybe your brother works at government hospital?

I know that many people who have money go to private hospitals after their doctor tells them they need surgery to get (they think) a better and special service . He also said in fact the only difference between a private and a gov. hospital is just outlook and doctors of private hospitals talk with their patients more. Nothing else.

I did not see any statistics for "C section vs natural birth" made for the whole .

Yes, he does work for a gov. hospital in Istanbul .

EDit: You know that "7.000 TL extra " is also paid by gov. via social insurance ?

Well I have been to mostly private hospitals in Turkey but also baskent university hospital.
I like Baskent, very competent doctors, great service and alwyas up to date with the latest medical breakthroughs.
Private hospitals are full of pretty nurses, leather couches and hotel/restaurant like service

A girl I know had to pay the full 10,000 tl herself as the workplace insurance stopped covering C-sections. I wonder why she didn't use her social security then?

The underlined above could be in my interest nothing else in a private hospital.

Adsiz... I think this underlines my point to you:

    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/ris...&NewsCatID=338

Is there a problem with the high number of births by Caesarean section in Turkey?
The rate of deliveries by Caesarean section was 21 percent in 2003, but it reached 48 percent in 2011. This is a very high number, and this increase has occurred very rapidly. In the U.S. for instance, the rate of Caesarean deliveries was 31.2 percent in 2010, and in Italy it was 37 percent. The often-mentioned World Health Organization statistic of a rate between 5 and 15 percent dates back to 1985. This rate is not compatible with world realities. No country has set a goal of lowering their rate of Caesarean sections to between 5 and 15 percent.

Why is the rate of Caesarean births so high in Turkey?
There are many reasons for it, but there has not been enough scientific research to show which among them are the most significant. One reason is the transformation in the health system. For instance, the number of births taking place in private hospitals in Istanbul has increased considerably. There is a correlation between the rise in the number of births taking place in private hospitals and the number of births by Caesarean section. There is a parallel, but we don’t know for certain whether there is a cause-and-effect relationship.

No,banning abortion cause the rich woman to go abroad and poorer ones try illegal services or simply try to get rid of baby by causing themselves physical damage. The result is more baby and mother death. It has been tested in few countries as far as I know.
The Turanian is the impersonation of material power. He is the merely muscular man at his maximum of collective development. He is not inherently a savage, but he is radically a barbarian. He does not live from hand to mouth, like a beast, but neither has he in full measure the moral and intellectual endowments of the true man.

Killing a baby is a crime...i think it must have been terrible for the woman herself too.

But if i was a woman,i'd like to be responsible for my own body and government has absolutely no right with it.

What do you women think on that?

I have been always against abortion (unless you got raped, that's another story) so I am for the law and NO for abortion. I am a Muslim and abortion means killing an innocent little human being to me.

But if I think further and deeper l just realize women who are irresponsible for their bodies will get pregnant anyway or there is a high chance for them to get pregnant and they probably will want to get rid of the baby so the rich ones will let do it outside of Turkey and the poor ones will do it through illegal ways anyway.

So at the end the laws will not stop abortions but the laws will make people more cunning and they will find their own way to do it.

I think to reduce the abortion people should get more education especially at highschools and universities they should get pictures and information about how an abortion proceeds and also condoms should be sold in supermarkets as well and not just strictly at chemistry shops.
