What I heard (the Saami woman not perceiving herself "white"), was also heard by at least 10 more people. I heard it in Sajos, new Saami culture centre. It was opened only this year. Or you will also say "it is highly unlikely that Sajos exists"? Or you will doubt that I was there? (but I have photos that prove that I was there).

I understand better now. She was asslicking indigenous peoples as in " I'm indigenous too!! See? Different from the mainstream. Not a Westie, but a despised aboriginal " Like Emos or Goths trying to find their kin. Yeah.

80%? What means "along the coast"? What is kilometrage from coast to consider place along the coast? Is town Vantaa along the coast? Is Tampere along the coast? What is definition of along the coast? And where did you get number 80%? Can you give a source?

I pulled it straigth from my arse, of course. The majority of Finns live along the southern and western coast. And most cities and towns are along the coast, a lake or near a water. My point is, MOST Finns are urban coastal people and not forest hillbillies although there are quite a few of them to.

You should read Erik Nilsson-Mankok "Forskningen om samerna ett vetenskapligt syndrom".
There have been so much speculations of who Saami are and where they come from. Today we see that we really are mostly ancient Europeans.
Nilsson-Mankok writes about all the earlier speculations, and one of the most lasting has been that Saamis belonged to "The Yellow Race". That almost costed us our existance, our lives (during WWII, depending on who had won the war). Saamis believed it too and used to say: "Japanese - our cousins." No Saami believes that today.

That woman Evi heard saying that we are not white, can very well have believed it (if she was elderly) or was maybe inmarried from somewhere (Greenland, China, Thailand, etc,) as many Saami men have prefered to marry those women, as well as Swedish men also prefer it sometimes.
