Is Breivik a hero?

Well he didn't necessarily achieve nothing. As said by some posters he ammased a small following, and to them he is a hero. in terms of norway he did achieve nothing so he is not a hero to most people.

I disagree when you said even a retarded person can acomplish what he did. Yes they can kill with minimal mental imput, but to write a 1000 page manifesto and plan an attack to such breadth takes some intelligence.

Obviously I dont agree with him and dont think he is a hero (nor the way he carried out his actions as in my mind killing people is absolutely wrong) like i said before but I'd still say he can be considered a revolutionary since he dedicated the act to a greater political cause, and that is what separates him from a killer that simply kills out of enjoyment or revenge.

I think he is intelligent. Intelligent people need to rationalize everything, including their most instinctual behaviors. That's why he wrote that stupid manifesto, to provide a logical structure for his otherwise irrational desire to harm others.

I cannot even fathom why this thread even exists. I cannot fathom why this question exists. Was Osama bin Laden a hero? Was Timothy McVeigh a hero? Was Charles Manson a hero? Was John Wayne Gacy a hero? Was Ted Bundy a hero? Was Klaus Barbie a hero? Was Josef Mengele a hero?

You have firefighters, police officers, military personnel, rescue teams etc. who risk their lives to save people every day, and do I see people making threads about them? Do I see anyone giving a damn about what some firefighter or police officer thinks about society?

In fact, there were people on Utøya and in the surrounding area that saved several teenagers from getting killed. Are they called heroes? Are they made into celebrities? Are their faces showed in the tabloids every goddamn week for a year? Does anyone make threads on ABF about the people who actually saved lives on July 22 last year?
