Why are Armenians upset about being called Armenian(Ermeni)? Aren't you Armenians? Shall we call you "gavurs" ?

However, there is this: For Kurds, Ermeni is an insulting word. I was talking with friends from Urfa and Diyarbakir and within half an hour,I heard the word Ermeni 50 times. It seems that Ermeni replaces the words that in Turkish mean bastard, poofter, gay for Kurds.

That still doesn't mean that Ermeni is derogatory. Its just the Turkish word for Armenian.
It hasn't been used in a derogatory context at all. In fact, from what I understood Armenians are more offended at being compared to Kurds, than being called Ermeni.

True, however, in some instances it is used by some Turks, in a derisive nature. Especially in threads where there's arguments between Turks and Armenians.

Never heard of that, not from the Kurds from my region or others. Perhaps the particular group you hung out with did as such, but it's by no means common.
