Copied two posts and moved some others to the thread Are Mongoloid features attractive? [split] //mod.
“And, furthermore, that some people have a sex life and others don’t just because some are more attractive than others. I wanted to acknowledge that if people don’t have a sex life, it’s not for some moral reason, it’s just because they’re ugly. Once you’ve said it, it sounds obvious, but I wanted to say it.” — Michel Houellebecq
Just a nice picture of Latvian family:
I think I have to add something to this thread as well but different scale. In the meantime when Finno-Ugrics can only speculate did they have any Rjuriks or other genetical impact to Russia´s leadership the Latvians, who seem at least to me to be for some odd reason slightly Finno-Ugric wannabes, although not particulary Finnish wannabes, have a had a real impact to Russia´s leadership. There were 4 ethnic Latvians in the top leadership of the USSR during different times. Maybe it is not that much but still much compared to zero that level Estonians. (Were Estonians too chinky or perhaps too blond? Or did the notorious estonian slowness had to play it´s role) Not talking about Red Latvian Riflemen whose impact in Russia can not be overrated.
At least nobody, even if someone would potentially want, can accuse me in cherrypicking as they are in chronological order.
about Kalnbērziņš -read in russian, there was no english article.
Classifications? At least for me they all look very Latvian as in this forum everyone is expected to know on how some ethnicity looks or is supposed to look.
<I know and suppose at least Boris Pugo, a Russian speaking Latvian communist and one of the leaders of anti-Gorbachev coup d'état attempt of 1991 is as "popular" in Latvia as Otto Ville Kuusinen in Finland but I wanted to make this gallery not about Latvian heros but just about ethnic Latvians.
A few more ethnic Latvians who hold significant positions in Soviet Union, they did it before second world war.
However, like most of Stalin´s elite they were arrested, tried for alleged espionage and anti-Soviet activities and sentenced to death during the Great Purge.
Jānis Rudzutaks, Soviet politician

Jukums Vācietis, Red army military official, the first commander-in-chief of the Red Army.
Roberts Eidemanis, Red army military official, head of the Frunze military academy, by the way Estonian from his mother´s side.
