    Default Genes for Good

It's a Facebook Application that will take a saliva sample and use it to figure out your genome after you answer some health related questions. It's free, so I thought I'd go ahead and do it and see what they'd have to say about my genetics. My sample's getting processed at the lab right now.

I never heard of it before. I guess when you get the results back you can tell us how accurate it seems. Since it is free, it does sound too good to be true (got to be some catch); but you never know.

It is like 23andme, it takes the test for two months to be competed, but it is worth as it is free.

Its free. They even let you download your DNA afterwards. I'm awaiting my results all you need to do is fill out some questionnaires for like 8 days,

The catch is answering seemingly endless mental and physical health questions.

I've heard that this is legit, but that the waiting time is atrociously lengthy.

I just wanted to say that I waited 2 months to get the results. I was able to modify the raw DNA file they provide to be read by GEDmatch. It is 100% close to my AncestryDNA kit but in a sense this is better because it goes a wider Y-Haplogroup analysis. Let me know if you guys are interested.

Why the hell would Facebook want your genome for?

Anyway, if Facebook enters the personal genomics business, it's game over for 23andMe (unless Google totally buys them), FamilyTreeDNA and any other personal genomics company.

I don't have any plans of giving Facebook my saliva.

Poland has always been an subordinate country, on one side sucking German dick, on the other side -- Russian one, some kind of "novice" europeans, who are full of inferiority complexes, hysteria and obsessity neuroses. This is also true for all Baltic countries

Facebook is not entering the DNA Business. They app which is ran through the Univ. of Michigan, is used as the gateway to download your DNA answer health related questions and take questionnaires. They explicitly mention that Facebook will not garnish any data or see any of it.
