23andme does a good job when it comes to German ancestry in my family.

For instance, I am 37.5% German, and they gave me ~30% French and German in speculative mode. Even in conservative mode I have a little bit.

If it does not show for you, It is probably because the quantity of German blood you carry is too small to tell for sure.

People always seem to think they are German when they are not. Even in my country, I see German flags during Eurocup/WorldCup when I know they are 1st generation Poles, or some other ethnic group. Nothing I can't stand more than foreign flags flying in my country.

French & German = 17% here, and I haven't had a foreign ancestor in over 300 years at least.

I have proof of my German ancestor. There's a family tree and pictures. Elsa is my great-grandmother.

Try uploading your raw dna from 23andme to DNALAND, it should give more specific results.

Does this look like evidence of being part German?

Dna.Land is total bullshit. They report that I have no Scandinavian, despite of the genealogical fact proving something else. Instead of it they claim that I am partly Balkan, Albanian, Bulgarian and Greek. They do, as also other companies, what ever it takes to serve their American customers. Unfortunately for me it means absurd results, as well as for many other Europeans.

    Balkan

Includes: Albanian in Albania; Bulgarian in Bulgaria and Greek in (2 sites) Greece
Does not include: Egyptian in (2 sites) Egypt; Belarusian in Belarus; Italian/EastSicilian, Italian/Bergamo and Toscani in (Bergamo and 2 other sites) Italy; Lithuanian in Lithuania; Ashkenazi Jew in Poland; Turkish in (Aydin, Balikesir and Istanbul) Turkey; Ukrainian in (East) Ukraine and Ashkenazi Jew from East Europe especially Lithuania (expat in Baltimore MD)

    Ah... Feck.

I wish we could trade Northern Euro scores. I want that South Western European score.

Interesting to see a Mex-Am mestizo with a higher NW Euro score than SW Euro.

    DNA.Land isnt that accurate though.
Babası oğluna bir bağ bağışlamış, oğul babaya bir salkım üzüm vermemiş.

I would throw my self in the ranks of the enemies untill I would be certain that I would not come out alive. And here I am dying on my bed. So may the eyes of the cowards never see sleep!
