Have Johannes Krause said this about neanderthal ancestry in middle-easterners?
Has Max Planc scientist Johannes Krause said this about neanderthal ancestry in middle-easterners?
While I googled the net for information about the degree of neanderthal introgression into different human populations I happened to stumble on this blog written by a white nationalist called John de Nugent.
His own writings are obviously affected by his political views and political bias and a large part of the post consists of hostile charecterizations of semites. You can skip those parts and the post all together if you wish.
However I got interested in a comment he made regarding a statement that Max Planck scientist Johannes Krause supposedly had made on a german tv show in May of this year. According to Nugent the scientist had claimed on this tv show that middle-easterners carry 10-20 percent neanderthal dna.
From the blog:
"On May 10, 2010 a member of Paabo’s team, Johannes Krause, said on the Mid-German TV network [Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk] that Middle Eastern people carried “10 to 20 percent” Neanderthal DNA. I personally think it must be nearer to 40% Neanderthal DNA in some ethnic and national groups of Caucasus Mountain origin".
Obviously what speaks against the existensce of this statement is that I have only seen it "referred" on this particular blog. It seems to me to be a pretty big deal if some populations carry up to 20% neanderthal ancestry while the official study claims 1-4% as a general figure for non-african populations.
I understand that one could measure the admixture in different ways but if one of the lead writers of the neanderthal study would have claimed that middle-easterners have a higher amount of neanderthal ancestry - then it seems strange that this was not commented on in the study and that no middle-easterner was sampled.
So one has to be sceptical about the existence or at least interpretation of this statement by Nugent but I think it is worthy to discuss and research whether Krause really made this statement.

You read some weird stuff, lol. The Ashkenazim Jews have a reputation for high intelligence, and high intellectual achievements. Well it seems being well endowed with Neanderthal has a lot of benefits!
I found the presentation of the Neanderthal man sitting like some Faggot rather funny. A limp wristed Neanderthal. Who would have thought.
