That's true. People of western Ukraine, western Belarus, south-eastern Lithuania were put under pressure by Polish authorities. To these days eastern Ukraine and eastern Belarus are more industrilaised than western parts of the countries because in the 30s these two republics were parts of the largest industrialisation project in eastern Europe, while western Ukraine and western Belarus remained agricultural regions in Poland. Common folks of western Belarus looked upto eastern Belarus , because eastern Belarus was a republic which appealed to people - as they could have their churches, newspapers, schools, Universities, cultural centres. Poland was built as a unitarian state causing tensions among Ukrainians, Belarusians and Lithuanians.

In saying all this Polish authorities did not confiscate basic necessities - grain, livestock, orchards, agricultural equipment - and most importantly the land from people.
