Default New branches of R1a1a1 - post all updates here plz

There seems to be a lot of action as far as R1a is concerned, with some very interesting SNP results. The population movements I've always talked about that took various R1a lineages from Central Europe in different waves to Eastern Europe are being backed up by these new results. There are also some very intriguing hits of very old R1a lineages from Western Europe, of all places. That's come as a surprise to me.

In any case, if anyone hears something new, plz post it here. I expect there will be a lot to discuss over the next few months.

Makes sense, since you're not Central European.

You gotta do it at FTDNA, with a Y-DNA test there, both STR and SNP.

Unfortunately, 23andMe does't test the new R1a1a1 SNPs, so they're not in our raw data.

But my advice is, hold off for now, because there might be a discovery or two soon that'll shake up everything we know about R1a1a1. After that, we can all get tested.

L448 will soon define the most numerous R1a1a1-branch in Scandinavia and the Irish sea-region. I am almost certainly L448+

Correction; I just checked FTDNA and I AM L448+
