Read the quote about Lasalle. He wasn't a racist in the 19th century or early 20th century meaning of the world, at least no more than the ordinary man, but he was racially insensitive from the 21st century POV.

According to Francis B. Randall, for example, Marx had acquired from his neighbours the habit of calling ideas and people he didn't like "Dirty Jewish" ('schmutzig-judischen'). Again, it's not Hitler-like racism (Jews are inferior and must be killed) or Apartheid-like racism (Negroes are inferior and must be kept apart from whites), but it's not PC for today's standards. Right wing politicians today get more flak for much milder remarks than the one Marx did back then. It's all about history and cultural norms.
But the peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.

    - John Stuart Mill, On Liberty

Well, he made the case that British colonialism was a necessary step "to bring India and the other colonized places out of the dark ages", so this should tell you volumes about what he thought about non-white peoples and their capacity (or lack thereof) for self-rule.

I am not of a communist admirer nor Che Guevara follower, but he fought for his convictions, he was an idealist and died as a very brave man and I reapect that.

"When Sergeant Terán entered the hut, Che Guevara then told his executioner, "I know you've come to kill me. Shoot, coward! You are only going to kill a man!"[193] Terán hesitated, then opened fire with his semiautomatic rifle, hitting Guevara in the arms and legs. Guevara writhed on the ground, apparently biting one of his wrists to avoid crying out. Terán then fired several times again, wounding him fatally in the chest at 1:10 pm, according to Rodríguez.[193] In all, Guevara was shot nine times. This included five times in the legs, once in the right shoulder and arm, once in the chest, and finally in the throat".

Castro and Che during their African campaign did use black Cubans, but had little luck organizing local Black Africans into an organized fighting force.

    http://www.historytoday.com/clive-fo...ican-adventure

In April 1965 a heavily armed force of 130 Cuban volunteers – all black, so they would not be conspicuous in Africa – sailed for Tanzania. Castro saw them off, while a heavily disguised Che flew in from Moscow via Cairo. The Simbas had no idea he was coming and did not know what to do with him. Che had great plans: to send trained groups of guerrillas to the front with instructors who would in turn train other groups and engage actively in fighting. He envisaged a war that would last five years. Che rapidly discovered that the African fighters had no discipline or training, were ethnically deeply divided and lacked proper command. Their officers tended to linger in the fleshpots on the Tanzanian side of the border and rarely visited the front, but nothing could be done without their approval. Worse, most of the African troops believed in magical powers that would render them invulnerable to bullets.

Don't be so sure of racists being unwilling to fight alongside those they consider unequal. History is full of such compromises in order to achieve a goal.

There's many instances of racist elements throughout history working together. It's very naive to think that the left is somehow this wonderful entity that is anti-racist whilst the right is this entirely racist entity. Show me any leftist movement that didn't have racism as a key element among its cadre. The modern left especially is a perfect example.

The white limousine-left is more racist than the average neo-Nazi on the street.

The Chinese Communist Party propaganda is chock full of Sino racism.

The Soviets were racist extremely so. They slaughtered Jews, Poles, and many others along racial/ethnic lines.

Che was a coward not a brave men. When he was finally captured he begged for his life saying that he was most useful alive. The men was a murderer who deserve the worst death possible.

He was a racist. It doesn't matter that he fought in Angola. There was a documentary about the Cuban revolution, and one of the men in the documentary who was part of the Cuban revolution said that Che treated the Afro-Cubans in his army in a bad/racist way. He also hated Mexican because he called them a band of illiterate Indians.

His way of thinking was the norm among people in Europe and the Americas at that time, don't see why it's so shocking.

One wonders what Marx would've said about Negroes had he lived with them in greater numbers.
Che is open minded because he got to see first hand the oppression of the "blacks" that her encountered in his travels, and he saw the good in them. He grew out of the strict racial rubbish, probably realizing that skin color didn't determine human character. Most of us would rather remain mediocre and criticize from a distance, he was a brave man, with all his imperfections.
