Olívio Jekupé, is a indigenous writer of Krukutu village in São Paulo, he probably is mixed with whites, but he follows the traditional religion and writes books in guarani, he is one of the most famous indigenous writers of Brazil.

He is the one with the blue shirt.

It's an internet thing. I've seen Brazilians using the word in other forums.

The non-brapanese people call them usually ''japoneis'', ''japa'' or nissei....is curious because the term ''mestiço'' is usually aplied only for white+japanese admixture.

Is there really a paraguayan influence in sertanejo music? I've never heard paraguayan music, I'm curious.

To me there seems to be more an American country music influence on sertanejo.
But the peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error.

The american influence is on the clothes, in the music not so much, the main foreign characteristic is the paraguayan music, this is influence is very old, in the end of the XIX century till the 60's, cowboys(they dont use country clothes like those singers) from São Paulo and Paraná, usually went to the mid-west of Brazil to bring back to the city of Barretos(where the first refrigerator of big proportions to storage meat was built). In their trip to the mid west, they usually have contact with the paraguayans(they came to Brazil to work as 'mensús', workers of the plantations of yerba mate), those paraguayans bring with them their culture, so this cowboys they learned the paraguayan rythms and mixed them with the brazilian caipira music, and they bring those new rythms to São Paulo, in that time, was the main epicentre of the radio, there, the singers started to play paraguayan songs or to adapt paraguayan songs to brazilian instruments.

This statement does not make a lot of sense, have you noticed the colour of the hair of African natives.
