Indeed. I have yet to actually visit the region during winter and haven't witnessed the snow for myself but I'd always encounter newspaper articles highlighting the snow during winter. I haven't quite researched what causes this phenomenon but a lot of meteorologists and such are actually quite interested in why it occurs.

Tbh, a lot of places I thought couldn't snow actually have snowy regions. In the Horn we have the Semien mountains of the Ethiopian Highlands where even during the ancient era an Aksumite emperor in one of his inscriptions describes that his men had to wade through snowy mountainous landscapes (seems evident that he was talking about the same area). It snows around Mount Kenya as well, I here and I knew a Nigerian girl who once told me that it used to lightly snow around her home town (mountainous area) but she said it was very light snow that melted soon after falling.

I once tried thinking for an entire day, but I found it less valuable than one moment of study. I once tried standing up on my toes to see far out in the distance, but I found that I could see much farther by climbing to a high place.

Some pictures I've taken outside my village, which is situated about 200 m from the sea. And the coastline is greatly formed by the inland ice. So I thought I could share some pics at it as well
