The Baiyue, known as the Hundred Yue were the natives of southeastern China. We don't know what language they speak, but based on the different Tai-Kradaic speakers, whom called themselves "Descendants of Yue," I conclude that the ancient Bai Yue people are in fact Tai-Kradaic speaking people which include Hmong-Mien, Austro-Asiatic to Tibeto-Burmese speakers.

I suspect that the darkskin Thais are actually Malays or Khmers. from the old empires.

Baiyue ,or Bach Viet in Vietnamese, are not synonymous to Tai-Kadai or Tai people as you put it. Vietnamese people, for example, a mon-khmer speaker but they are direct descendant of ancient BaiYue tribe known as Lac Viet in history. The word "Viet Nam" means "Viet(Yue) people in the south" in Vietnamese language.

I'm sure some Vietnamese groups in ancient time were part of the Bai Yue, just like how some Hmong-Mien and Lolo-Burmese were also part of Bai Yue.

The Dong, Hlai, Bouyei and Zhuang all called themselves "Yue."

The ancient song "Yue Ren Ge" was deciphered using the Zhuang language.

Vietnamese seem to be more connected to South East Asia genetically and linguistically than Tais.

I think Vietnamese in the past look like Cambodian and western Indonesian then they're heavily mixed with people from China because Chinese empires ruled them for thousand years

I think Genetic analysis has shown that the majority of the Southern vietnamese come from indonesia , and that they are closer to Malay people than the northern one vietnamese, which makes sense because southern Vietnam was once a Malay kingdom.

Y-DNA 02 is consistantly found in Vietnamese, Thais, and Indonesians.

Y-dna O3 is south east asia (not counting recent Chinese immigrants) seems to be limited to Hmong-mien and Austronesians. at least the Unique markers are.

it's Interest that Hmong-mien and Austronesians have a distant connection. There doesn't seem to be any linguistic or cultural connections at all. Somehow we were of the same tribe in the not too distant past. I wonder what happened?
