It used to be, until the government had the brilliant idea of taxing it and other kinds of seafoods. Nowadays it is mostly an Haitian construction worker food, and that's because they make a convite (sharing of money among the gang) in order to buy enough cans to make a really big casserole of it. Domi poor people eat nowadays mainly chicken, tayota and eggplant as companion to their rice, yucca or plantains.

It may not be your idea but some would consider her mestizo because she definitely would not be European, African descent or mulatta.
You almost gave the Portuguese/Brazilian definition of the term right there. Although they have "Caboclo" too when they want to get pretty much specific to mean exclusive Euro/Amerind mix (sans SSA).

    Haitians in Cuba.

Haitians have a long history in Cuba. I even heard Haitian culture sightly influenced the culture of Eastern Cuba. Fidel Castro's godfather I THINK was Haitian. Someone should do a documentary of Haitian vodou comparison to Afro-Cuban santeria.

The first girl sorta reminds of Chris Ureña who happens to have a common look in the DR. But maybe it's just my tired eyes playing me. Who knows.

Interesting. I notice Brasil has many different labels.

But anyways I think different Latin countries are going to have their OWN "mestizo" look. Why? Because the indignous populations were all different and had their own unique phenotypes in my opinion.

I mean don't you Dominicans have mestizos? I remember seeing one chick who looked zamboish/mestizo. I heard they are in the highlands or something of that nature. Correct me.

Anyways, I got curious and decided to google more pics of Manny Perez and I would say that he looks mixed and not fully caucasoid. Unless someone actually disagrees? @El Andullero since you lived or are currently living in Spain.

Otherwise, my apologies for putting him as an example for a full med pheno.

One of my Haitian homeboys wants me and another cat to go to Haiti. That's if the protests calm down. I'd be able to see BOTH countries of Hispanola.

He looks mixed to me. At most he could pass in the Canary islands, but no further than that.

Things have calmed down quite a bit, so there is a chance your dream might come true indeed.

Yeah. I think the shape of his head kinda looks native influence. His skintone is also darker than usual maybe? Unless he has a tan or something. You be the judge because my idea of whiteness is different at this point LMAO.
