More Panamanian than this girl's accent it would be impossible. She is from Azuero but she was raised in the ghetto in Panama City.

Do Panamanians self identify as mestizo more than mulatto?

People in Panama are so ignorant. A white high class woman had the nerve to tell my ass that I was NOT mullatoe when my features were more Spanish than hers. She said, in ither for you to be mullatoe, you have to have blue or green eyes and have blonde afro hair. And this is true. In Panama only people right light hair and eyes with afro hair and sole afro features are ONLY considered to be mulattoe. So those you see in this sketchy chart are most likely the light feature “chombo blancos”.

I am considered “Trigueño” that’s it, which is pretty much a mestizo. My features are pretty Canarian but my skin is brown and my hair is pretty mixed. If I would have afro blonde hair and light eyes I would be a mullatoe in Panama. People have no idea what they talking about! None!

That's just how social dynamics and colorism works, racial categories are a social construct in the first place.

It is why even as a fairly mixed person myself(50% Native, 43% Euro, 5% SSA, 2% Unassigned), I'm still called an "indio" by some lighter featured Mexicans. In the context of racial dynamics in many Latin American countries, one's "racial appearance" is relative to what the other person looking at you thinks.

Well, my features are pretty Iberian except my big lips. I look extremely mullatoe just like a lot of those guys except I have dark features. Like Drake or Obama, similar. I am not going to post picture of me. But I am same racial composition and similar features. This guy is Brazilian though.

This guy could easily be my brother. I still think my features are more Spanish, I look like my grandpa who is white.

Now it is fairly obvious the guy you posted has some admixture, but in this colorist/racist society, I could see why some would just see him as "another black guy".
