Dude, Jamaica has been in the UK's orbit ever since the English conquered the island in 1655, so there's no way in hell his Euro component would have come out as Southern Euro, unless you're willing to make the lunacy of lumping the English, Scots and Irish that settled on that island since then on that label.

    Very stereotypically Jamaican results

Well, at least the autosomal and Y-DNA. U6a* and it's downstream mutations are pretty common in West Africa, so no surprise there. It's probably so old, that it predates the divergence of SSAs from NAs. That's why you have not even a tiny bit of North African or fake South Euro.

BTW, what Parish is your family from in Jamaica? My great grandfather was from St. Elizabeth. He was one of the red people who lived by the beach.

Andullero don't waste your time. Anybody you have to explain basic things like this to, is a waste of key strokes...

I don't know much about Jamaica but if you're from there then I would have thought your Euro component would be Southern European instead of Northern European. Your results are similar to the results of the average, typical Afram in the U.S., minus the 1.5% Southern European. His Amerindian and Asian percentages aren't too out of the ordinary. I scored 0.3% Amerindian and 0.2% South East Asian. When I first got my results it said I was 0.2% East Asian then when they updated the site they changed it to South East Asian, for some reason.
Jamaica has mixed race people, so obviously the English mixed abit with the Black slaves. Particularly most cases would be Male slave master (white) with Black servant (female).

Your should check this article out, very simple and short, Most are mixed. No one in the new world is pure anymore and if there is it's very little and it's most likely gonna be in Haiti or isolated communities doted up and down The Americas but these are small and are becoming less in numbers as we speak or per generations

Partially true. A lot of race mixing on the island took place after slavery was abolished.

Jamaica had been in British hands since the mid 17th century.

Why would I be a expert on the histories of Jamaica? I don't know everything, I come on this site to learn and become more knowledgeable on random topics too.

Mt-DNA U6a3* is quite rare but consistent amongst West Africans.

I get a sense that your and my reaction to our DNA results (autosomal and haplogroups) was sort of similar. These genetic analyses are basically scientifically validated ways of how people back in the day used to talk of "xyz blood". It is funny to note how one's culture that we are born into will politically orient us towards playing up one aspect of our ancestry, playing down others, etc.

Have a gander at my results (and prepared to be shocked):

    My Autosomal Results

    My Y-DNA Results

My Mt-Dna Results (this will shock you................ I was fucking shocked to see it)

    My Neanderthal Results

That's that. All in all I'd say I'm very typically "Jamaican". Turns out that the Amerindian blood ties were a lie.................... Oh well. I thought my Y-DNA would be European like some type of R1b but I'm glad it's typically SSA.
The only thing that did suprise me was my Mt-DNA.
Your Amerindian might have just been bred out. Genetics man. Its as selective as it is random.

That's true! There were still some Amerindians left on the island when the Brits took it over from the Spanish, so what you said is possible.

U6 is across West Africa, it's more common in NWA but still, even some Akan also carry U6:
