Default Are pines more advanced than humans?

Scientists have sequenced the genome of a loblolly pine, which has 22 billion base pairs. The human genome only has 3 billion base pairs. The pine's genome is the largest ever sequenced.

A different type of technology (genome assembly) was used to read the conifer's DNA, since the information is so expansive.

Are pines indeed more genetically complex than humans?

How can we utilize the genetic information of a pine tree?

What other projects could potentially require genome assembly?
