    AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young dead at 64.

Tributes continued to pour in on Sunday in for Malcolm Young, co-founder of the Australian rock band AC/DC, a day after he died at age 64 after suffering from dementia for several years.

Malcolm Young and his brother Angus Young founded AC/DC, whose hits included “Highway to Hell” from 1979 and “Back in Black” and “You Shook Me All Night Long” from 1980.

“Malcolm, along with Angus, was the founder and creator of AC/DC. With enormous dedication and commitment he was the driving force behind the band,” AC/DC posted on its Facebook page on Saturday night. Young was a songwriter, backing vocalist and rhythm guitarist for AC/DC, a hard rock and heavy metal band that was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

By Sunday morning, fans and friends had posted 56,000 comments on Facebook under the band’s announcement

Giants of the music world took to social media to express their shock. Other rockers paid tribute to Young’s lasting influence.

Ozzy Osbourne tweeted that it was “so sad to learn of the passing of yet another friend, Malcolm Young”, and Eddie Van Halen tweeted that it was a “a sad day in rock and roll”.

“Malcolm Young was my friend and the heart and soul of AC/DC. I had some of the best times of my life with him on our 1984 European tour. He will be missed and my deepest condolences to his family, bandmates and friends.”

Kiss bassist Gene Simmons added to the condolences, tweeting: “Malcolm was a good man. Always a kind hearted soul. finally recall when we took out AC/DC on their first American tour. It (sic) will be sadly missed. RIP”.

Young is survived by his wife O‘Linda, children Cara and Ross, three grandchildren, a sister and a brother, the band said. He “passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside,” the band stated.

Young’s family confirmed in 2014 that he was suffering from dementia. Young last performed with the band in 2014, then stepped aside for his nephew, Stevie, to take over rhythm guitar duties for the band’s last tour to promote its 2014 album, Rock Or Bust.

AC/DC has sold more than 200 million albums across the world.

George Young, another brother to Malcolm and Angus, died on Oct. 23 at age 70. George Young had served as producer to AC/DC and guitarist for the band Easybeats.

Sad news. No news of the death of any individual is good news. So, we contemplate our mortality with the passing of each individual. He hasn't been performing with AC/DC for a while, his dementia kicked in a few years back. Malcolm retired permanently from the band three years ago due to dementia. He was in a bad way then. Malcolm was probably the driving force of AC/DC for most of the last 40 years. Brian Johnson actually bowed out after he started going deaf, and they replaced him with Axl Rose briefly on one of their tours. Not sure what the status is now, I did read he got some kind of new hearing implant, that may let him perform again. This should be the end for AC/DC, but who knows. It's been a tough year for Rock music. Malcolm is gone, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell, Gregg Allman, Chuck Berry, tough year indeed, hope they are all playing the great gig in the sky!

^ Back in Black album is wired into me like DNA, and AC/DC riffs are tattooed to my soul. I grew up listening to their music, and loved most of them. My dad even saw them live in the early or mid 80's. I am really jealous now lol. AC/DC brought the precision of the best Ricky Skaggs bluegrass stylized music performance perfection, to Rock & roll thunder. If you are a guitar player, you know what I mean. Kick-ass Rock & roll, but incredible its precision performance. They did what they did purely, and perfectly. In an age where Beyoncé makes millions sticking her bum out, and rappers turn 'bitch' into a synonym for female, while graphically describing sex, an age of normalized porn, where Teen Vogue has articles about anal sex and incest, and Taylor Swift's latest collection of 13 year old's poems about ex-boyfriends, just had the biggest release ever for an album. No clue who is buying this trash. You may or may not have loved AC/DC, but there is no denying their staying power. There ARE no equivalent rock bands, because there are only Pajama Boys to market to, now. Seriously, who is going to be listening to Katy Perry, Beyoncé, or Justin Bieber, 40 years from now?

Irish singer Dolores O'Riordan, from The Cranberries, died recently (6 September 1971 – 15 January 2018), cause of death hadn't been established last I checked:

Some here might be too young to remember this 23 year old song, but it's a great song nonetheless (and memorable music video too):

That type of music normally doesn't particularly appeal to me, but I've always liked The Cranberries, or at least some of their songs. Stars is awesome for, example. Sucks to hear about O'Riordan dying.

e: she's wearing a Government Issue shirt in the video, now I like her even more

Happened earlier in January...close to the same time as O'Riordan's death.

His death hit me hard because I have adored The Moody Blues since forever.

Reverend Billy Graham died on February 21st, 2018 at the age of 99, and was laid to rest today, March 02, 2018.

    excerpt:

"Today in the center of this great chamber lies legendary Billy Graham," Trump said. "An ambassador for Christ who reminded the world of the power of prayer and the gift of God's grace."

Along with Trump, House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., also spoke at the ceremony. Ryan called Graham "America's pastor."

Graham is only the fourth private citizen to lay in honor in the Capitol Rotunda, along with Rosa Parks (2005) and U.S. Capitol Police Officer Jacob J. Chestnut, Jr., and Detective John M. Gibson, who were shot and killed in the line of duty when an assailant attacked the Capitol.

While O'Riordan's death has been ruled unsuspicious, her autopsy and toxicology report remains confidential.
The coroner has put the investigation into her cause of death on hold until April 3 "as they await the results of further tests."
