LOL my family is so mixed, even we are just finding out more about it. I say more like partically so but never 100%. Like they can guess I am part Mexican American maybe or have some Spanish or some Northern European, etc....but wouldn't guess everything. Though when it comes to Nationality, that is pretty easy to guess as I have the typical accent for my state and the state I am from is one of the ones everyone seems to know and recognize.

Well, I don't get many people coming up to ask me what i am. I mostly get people asking me where I'm from. I guess it's mostly because of my accent or lack thereof or whatever. It's only when I'm with my brother-in-law that people mistake me for being Latino or something because they think he's Latino (Puerto Rican, Cuban, Mexican, etc), and they think I'm his sister. We've heard so many times from strangers, "oh, I thought you two were siblings."

I work with a lot of Immigrants, from the Afro diaspora, and people think I'm Caribbean sometimes. Some of the folks, are first generation Americans. Now when I was in trade school, only when my hair was longer, a few Dominicans, spoke to me in Spanish. I was around a lot of Afro Latin diaspora folks, Venezuelans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, etc, so you didn't always know, where folks were from. Becuase of the etnic tension in school, when I would eat at certain tables, filled with different types of Latinos, they would ask me, where are you from, or ask each other that. One girl thought I was Dominican, but when she spoke to me in Spanish, and found out I wasn't, she never spoke to me again lol. She would speak to me in English, all the time, and I spoke a few words of Spanish then.

By Horners and people familiar with horners they always assume I'm Ethiopian(even Somalis).I've been asked if I was Sudanese,Southern Egyptian,Yemeni,Saudi,South Indian,Biracial and even pacific Islander which was bizarre to me.

I dont know if its me, but it always seem like, that the Somalians that I see, compared to the Ethiopians, typically have a darker, more reddish complexion, and their hair is always straighter? Ethiopians tend to be lighter brown / caramel, and their facial features are thinner, but their features look different than Somalians? I always know, which is which. I went to school with a lot of them, grew up around them, but I think I was wrong one time. To me, Ethiopian and Somalians do not have the same head shape, and I always notice, the Somalian always have finer straighter / curly hair, but I could be wrong all together, because I am limited to what I see. I know their are many tribes in Ethiopia? Somalians look more distinctive to me.

Yes the Habesha(the standard Ethiopian) have big broader heads and bigger eyes and most of the time are very short with very rough hair. While Somalis would be darker, taller and extremely lanky. The head is very slim with deep set eyes. The hair ranges very rough to dead straight.Somalis on average have straight noses and a curvy Arabid nose is extremely rare(can still be found tho) while the curved Arabid is actually quite common with the Habesha.

Let me get one thing straight tho. There are very light Somalis and there are very Dark Habesha. There also soft haired Habesha. What I am describing is the stereotypical Habesha and Somali! There are also people like me who look Pan horn and would pass anywhere in the Horn in any ethnic group whether Oromo,Gurage,Afar,Amhara etc.

Most people in Canada don't know how Peruvians look like, so they guess you as white.

Peruvians have a lot of Pseudo-Caucasoid traits. A depigmented Peruvian will look white.

Most times people have guessed my ethnicity correctly. Now and again I get some West African nationality like Ghanaian, Nigerian and even Sierra Leonean. LOL
