    The language/languages that originated in your country (the first language that you are taught is more like your mother tongue). I speak English; but English didn't originate in this country. So it would be my mother tongue; but not what I consider to be a native language here.

    That makes sense. I guess Spanish is my mother tongue, but English is my native language. I'm most comfortable with English. I can't even read or write too well in Spanish.

    In my father's case he learnt türkish after 12 year old but now its probably his best language.

    The language your parents taught you. In the case of it being two languages then you're lucky to have 2 natives tongues.

    Your true native language is the native language of your people, regardless of how well you speak it.
