Mali isn't near the coast. But there were migration within Africa. I saw a documentary about Timbuktu and Mali and most people in that were really really black in skin color. Sure the Aframs and most New World blacks are quite mixed.

No. But some coastal kingdoms did go inland and raid villages for slaves back then.

Europeans mainly captured their slaves from the coast, or bought them from coastal kingdoms who traded in slaves.

Malian ancestry among African Americans is likely a result of the purchase of slaves from the Ashanti Kingdom.

Might be the result of a few African and European alleles forming South Asian-like genotypes at a few sites.

What tells you that she must be less African genetically, because of her looks? Are you saying the more African the more ugly?

You said it, not me. I happen to think dark skinned African women are beautiful.

But the reason is because when I look up pictures of people from Ghana, Mali, Nigeria they do not look like her. If you think she wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb in these photos I don't know what to tell you.

Maybe if you would stop stereotyping how people are supposed to look with selective pics you would understand better, but oh well. You can't always equate admixture percentages to certain looks. She's 90% and to me, a fellow Afram, I see nothing that makes her look less. Ghanaians and Malians don't have her specific African mixture. A mixture of different African ancestry, not higher non-African ancestry, can account for her looks.

I don't agree. Show me fully West African women who look like her, then.

As if 10% Non African is going to make a huge difference.

Many White Americans tend to have small traces of non-white admixture, yet it hardly effects their face. On the other hand, many White Ams are a mixture of various European groups, which makes sense why some look different from their European counterparts.
