Default Ancient Egypt, IAM, KEB, and artistic conventions over time

Just a random thought after reading the Fregel paper on North Africa...

Could it be possible that if predynastic (or even Old Kingdom) AE were not proper SSA as we know it today, and shared ancestry with IAM of the Fregel paper, in later periods AE became the more Eurasian-like populations we see in the latest autosomal studies and among modern-day Copts (or even similar to KEB), the conventions long ago established for AE art (often dark reddish-brown complexion, sometimes SSA-like or pseudo-SSA features) continued despite the population becoming different?

Just a thought, if the original population of AE was similar to IAM, then later KEB peoples gradually became the majority. Could help explain the discrepancy between some AE remains and AE artwork.

I don't necessarily believe this happened, just throwing the idea out there.

Neolithic North Africans had no significant SSA affinities. Get over it, Mr. Kang!

I'd posted the question just based on Fregel, but good call, I'll re-read that study more thoroughly and see how it could relate to this.

What about IAM having 1/4 to 1/3 membership to a genetic component peaking in Niger-Kidofanian speakers in ADMIXURE indicates they have no Significant SSA Affinity?

I swear y’all be talking a lot of good game but have zero in terms of evidence.

I don't think OP's question is bad, however, this is obviously not the site to have a "serious" discussion about anything in Africa... I'm sorry.

    It wasn’t always like this.
People didn’t just run up talking shit expecting those more knowledgeable to back them up with arguments they don’t even believe.

Yeah, the thread was made to spur conversation about Africa, more than anything. Was gonna let people tear down or support the premise, whatever, just to get any conversation going.

I don't post much on any forums anymore, mainly lurk, but honestly there aren't many other sites to have "serious" discussion about Africa anyways.

Looking at other sites/blogs, seems whenever this question is asked, these people disappear or brush it off as "Afrocentric" nonsense.

I'm also interested in Laziridis' tweet about the Fregel paper, but he hasn't followed up on his ideas:

Fascinating to see that Sub-Saharan-related ancestry in earlier Neolithic samples (IAM) dropped (KEB) and then re-increased before today
