I think most people would agree that it's a good idea that Black Americans(of colonial roots) should get their own identity, cause it's obvious they have a different perspective from those who recently immigrated.

    Interesting, I have seen less Pan-African sentiment in online circles the past few years, like you said, it's not solving the domestic issues that many AA people face in their daily lives. The idea seemed to really pick up speed around the time of Black Panther's premiere, several people relating more to Killmonger than Tchalla.

    Just hope there are leaders who will steer this concept in a good direction, while not have it be hijacked by narcissists and xenophobes.

    Yeah yeah, african slavery was nice, the wealth of the US is built on the backs of a small fraction of the working population who picked cotton, slaves would have been building multinational whiskey corporations back in africa etc..

    it's all just make believe.

    Good post. And yea there are less Pan-African discussions because as of now it offers little specific tangibles. As for the bolded this has been brewing before Black Panther. But the movie is one of the things that opened it up.

Relations became better . . . by the late fifties Greenwood was on the decline."
