German with Polish spelling to me. It underwent the second Germanic consonant shift and they use the word 'zu' where we use 'te'. I would even all it a variation of High German and not really a different language.

Interestingly, that German 'Ostlandlied' has a Dutch origin or it's a 16th century translation and record of such song.

    https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oostlandlied

The lyrics have variants and interpretations one of which is one of population movement, but also one of the Dutch trading with people farther east to break the trade monopoly of the Hanseatic League. Trading with Poles and Lithuanians for grain, it's a part of early Dutch (especially Northern Dutch) history.

"Political correctness is the (...) revenge of the (...) intolerant, (...) dunce upon all the liveliness in this world. It is no more than the (...) resort of minds (...) that, for them, a revival of Stalinism is preferable to the pain of a glimpse of self-it's the last sigh of the beast that Nietzsche identified as ressentiment."

Makes sense because the guy who wrote it (duke Henry III) probably spoke Polish as his mother tongue and German was his second language. He mentioned "Polen" and "Dutsch" living in his duchy.

About Białystok area during World War 2:

    http://www.geographiapolonica.pl/art...tem/11049.html

"(...) Aggression of the German Wehrmacht army against the Soviet Union on June 22nd, 1941, allowed for the successive annexations and boundary shifts. The essential decisions, concerning the occupied territories, situated on the eastern side of the German-Soviet demarcation line, which belonged until 1939 to Poland, and in the period 1939-1941 were under the Soviet occupation, were taken on July 16th and August 15th, 1941. The district of Białystok was established, having 32,000 sq. km and 1.7 million inhabitants, and was incorporated directly into the Reich – subordinated to Erich Koch, the gauleiter (governor) of East Prussia. At the same time the decision was taken of incorporating the entire Eastern Galicia (that is – the eastern part of the Polish province of Lwów, and the provinces of Tarnopol and Stanisławów) into the General Governorship. Thereby, the fifth district was established, called Galicia, with 47,100 sq. km and roughly 4.5 million inhabitants. (...)"
