Default Y- Test : 5th Cousin Match At 0 Distance / European Paternal Haplogroup - African American

I have five matches, but at zero distance, on FTDNA, with the same family surname! I'm African-American by the way. Clearly one of my forefathers is European, and I am trying to find that connection, to complete my family history. Is it safe to say that I am a Moore descendant? Keep your racist comments, at the door....We don't choose our DNA!

I think 5 matches with the same last name is amazing and you are a Moore. I have a female Moore on my mother's side from Scotland/Northern Ireland.

OK Mr. Moore, now you have a more complete picture. Congrats!
Knock on the door of the Moore cousins, see their faces

And don't be so touchy on being Afram, can you imagine a face a Polish writer made when he was arrested by a Black American sheriff who spoke Polish? This sheriff's father or maybe Grandfather was Polish and he enjoyed making this thing to white Polish-Americans, he was just lucky enough to actually arrest a real Pole who was just visiting USA

“We know each other,” he agreed. “They say that you follow in my steps.”
“I go my own way. But you, you had never, until just now, looked behind you. You turned back today for the first time.”
Geralt remained silent. Tired, he had nothing to say. “How... How will it happen?” he asked her at last, coldly and without emotion. “I will take you by the hand,” she replied, looking him straight in the eye. “I will take you by the hand and lead you across the meadow, through a cold and wet fog.” “And after? What is there beyond the fog?” “Nothing,” she replied, smiling. “After that, there is nothing.”

Just posting to keep updated on this thread, I took a 67 YDNA test and should be getting my results next month, so I want to learn the intricacies of FTDNA Y too.

Many Scottish people moved to Ireland. Moore is a Scottish surname. According to wikipedia it is a sept of Clan Leslie in Aberdeenshire. That means John Moore's paternal line was originally from Aberdeenshire in Scotland.

Yes. I'm thinking he was Scott Irish. I believe they were ran out of Ireland pretty much, and they wasn't liked too much in Ireland?

The Irish didn't and still don't like settlers on their land. The difference between them is the Irish are Roman Catholic and the Scottish are Presbyterian (Protestant).
