    Don't talk rubbish.
Most North Europeans have a transparent, often vascular, skin which reddens or blisters when exposed to too much sun while South Europeans tend to have a skin which has little or no vasculatity and tans various deep brown shades.

From what I have seen I would say yes, some a-typical Southern Italians are darkest of all Southern Europeans, darker than the darkest Spanish or Greeks. Although I think they are a-typical for Southern Italy, it's just that these a-typical ones are simply the darkest of any native European. Perhaps some could have North African roots, anyways I think it confuses people because Italians range the most out of all the broadly accepted terms to describe European ethnic groups. I grew up in an area of Australia with a relatively large Italian presence, so I knew many Italians and grew up with them, they ranged from some being quite pale with greyish blue eyes and light-medium blonde hair, then there was a very dark one I knew who looked like a North African with light brown skin, black curly hair and distinctly North African facial features(not like the typical Southern Italian). So Italians range greatly from what I have seen, although I think the two people I mentioned are on the extreme end of the scale concerning variations between Italians, most Italians are somewhere in between with most having brown not Black or Blonde hair and light to slighty medium olive skin.

    I meant to say no*

So I disagree with Spanish being the darkest of Europeans.

Why this guy speak about Mexicans when he's talking about Spanish people? Spanish people are the people from Spain, not any Latin American country. Eddie Murphy speaks English and he's not a English man. Mexicans not representing Spanish people. They're Amerindians/Mestizos from America, not Europeans like Spaniards. So, yes... you're an ignorant.

I'm Spaniard and I'm blond with green eyes.

Spaniards can be blonde and blue eyed, especially in Catalonia, and relatively dark especially in Andalusia, and everything in between elsewhere.

That's not true. Andalusians are descendants of North Spaniards and Catholic settlers from Germany, Flanders, Swiss and Ireland. Perhaps because there there are more gypsies of because they are closer than Morocco some people think Andalusians half Moors or whatever. That's a mistake. By the way I'm not Andalusian.

In DNA tests it seems Galicians (from North-West of Spain) are the Spaniards with more North African genetics.

The Portuguese are generally darker than Spaniards.
