Spaniards basically look like french people, albanians, southern italians, and greeks are far more exotic looking. I noticed that americans sometimes conflate spaniards with hispanics, maybe that's why some people across the pond assume they are very dark.

From the Spaniards I've met, I'd say no.

In fact, they are not even the Europeans in strict sense, meaning European as in bearing the responsibility and understanding of European interests. Poland has always been an subordinate country, on one side sucking German dick, on the other side -- Russian one, some kind of "novice" europeans, who are full of inferiority complexes, hysteria and obsessity neuroses. This is also true for all Baltic countries

Europeans don't discuss who's blonder. I can see the difference between a Finn and a Greek. There are obvious differences. Finns can play ice-hockey. Greeks play football (soccer in USA).

I can see the difference between Russians and Belarusians. Many think we are alike. We are not. Russians consider us their little brothers and sisters. We are not. Poles and Lithuanians are more similar to us than Russians.

BS spaniards looking like french people is a myth they have their own specific look only a minority of them look like french people.

    Typical iberian look :

I would say to a certain extent on the French, they only resemble Southern French from my experience (I was in Southern France apart from other regions from that country)

All the Italian people I've seen in person, have been white as any other white American. This is to say, they are white people, but a little darker haired, a little darker eyes, etc. Some of these people were white like snow.

But from my experience... it's been different with Spanish people. I see a lot of Mexicans everyday, and in no way, would I think they are white. Not even the Mexicans on the Spanish TV channels look white, although people say they are. I just can't see the white in them. My dad says a similar thing sometimes. He calls Italians white, but never calls a Spanish person white. He just calls Spanish people Spanish.

Am I ignorant? Have I just not seen enough Spanish people? I've never been to Spain, but all the pictures and TV of Spanish people, don't lie. The Spanish people I've seen on TV have much darker hair, eyes and skin, compared to, say, the Italians I mentioned.

What exactly am I noticing here? Are Spanish people darker than Italians? Are Spanish people the darkest Europeans?
I am guessing certain Sicilians and Portugese. I have never been to portugal, though. I knew this one Sicilian, from New York, who got busted for selling crystal meth in Florida who looked darker than Mexicans but with more European features I saw this one super dark Greek, in college, too but it is hard to say just on these lone experiences. I knew this other dark carpenter he was Italian but whatever.

My sister's husband is half spanish and half German and his Spanish mother is dark but not as dark as these other creatures I described.

    Common Portuguese people:

Spaniards don't look much diferent to me, but since their territory/population is bigger, they display more diversity in their phenotypes, which means they also have more exotic people from both spectrums: lighter and darker than average. Common Spaniards look no diferent from average white Brazilians, which are mainly Portuguese. But I also perceive some vibes that look more Portuguese than Spanish, but that doesn't mean (s)he can't pass in Spain, of course.
Manuela Velasco (Spanish actress), Mane de La Parra (Mexican actor, already posted), Nathália Rodrigues (Brazilian actress), Joaquim Lopes (Brazilian actor), Fernando Alonso (Spanish F1 Pilot), Eduardo Noriega (Spanish actor), Marta Torné (Spanish actress), Blanca Suarez (Spanish actress)... have very Spanish/Iberian faces, not synonymous with only passing in Iberia, just that their vibes look diferent from, for example, Italians.
And most Spaniards (like Italians) don't have naturally olive skin, the majority has a medium white tone.
