Question Are Spanish people the darkest Europeans?

I've met and seen people who are Italian. I had an Italian neighbor. I know a man who married an Italian woman. I went to an Italian festival once, and the dancers were white. All the Italian people I've seen in person, have been white as any other white American. This is to say, they are white people, but a little darker haired, a little darker eyes, etc. Some of these people were white like snow.

But from my experience... it's been different with Spanish people. I see a lot of Mexicans everyday, and in no way, would I think they are white. Not even the Mexicans on the Spanish TV channels look white, although people say they are. I just can't see the white in them. My dad says a similar thing sometimes. He calls Italians white, but never calls a Spanish person white. He just calls Spanish people Spanish.

Am I ignorant? Have I just not seen enough Spanish people? I've never been to Spain, but all the pictures and TV of Spanish people, don't lie. The Spanish people I've seen on TV have much darker hair, eyes and skin, compared to, say, the Italians I mentioned.

What exactly am I noticing here? Are Spanish people darker than Italians? Are Spanish people the darkest Europeans?

You are a troll from that notorious anti-Iberian site "Italic Roots".
I've been many times to both Italy and Spain and European Spaniards are as a group whiter-skinned than Italians.

Most Italians range from pale sallow to tanned toffee-brown or olive.
Even Mexicans of pure or nearly pure Spanish origin are lighter than most Italians.

Most Spaniards have dark hair and brown eyes, but their pigmentation is fair (not as ligh/pinkish as the British, but still not swarthy) and they look standard white.
Many people in Mexican TV are white. This is a Mexican actor/singer that has the typical Spaniard look:

And these are typical Spaniards from Spain:

It doesn't make to say Italian are white, but not consider Spaniards as such. Spanish phenotypes and genetics are within the European range, not an outlier. Many Americans don't perceive Spaniards as white because they associate Spain with Latin America, not with the Euro country of Spain.

These girls (except the obvious Mongoloid one) are exchange students from Spain in an Americans school (the guys are Americans) and they (the girls) look like what they are: average white people.

In short, no. Spaniards are darker than a handful of other Europeans though given their geographical positioning along the Mediterranean Sea.

Even with his Cape Verde ancestry he looked as pale as a Brit when he was living in Manchester when he was younger and not going to tanning salons. There aren't any 'dark skinned' europeans, some europeans just tan better than others.

If you tan easily, especially to a brown shade, you are "darker-skinned".

no, your skin tone is you base tone, not your tan.

'white people' don't suddenly become 'brown people' when they spend a lot of time on the beach.
