I never heard the phrase, "genetic race," so I am not sure what it means, but if I were to use the phrase then I expect it would mean a set of genomes with a pattern of genetic variants that tend to be more common among individuals of a corresponding ancestral race.

Word. The best proof of this are a group of siblings in multiracial families. Rarely they get to have an uniform look about them (us).

Each reproduction is a random selection of 50% of the genetic variants from the father versus the mother, and therefore I expect that the greater phenotypic diversity among biracial siblings than among mono-racial siblings would indicate the biological significance of racial differences.

Also, I completely disagree with purposely narrowing racial make-up down to just tropical climate.
    Humans are NOT geographical crayons!

This historical Native American had Australoidish features & it was very common to find these phenotypes among this tribe & others, as well as Paleo-Mongoloids. They lived in the cold ass Midwest.

This woman is from the Bougainville (Pacific) Islands & can easily be simply classified as a so called OOA Negroid.
OK, to clarify, when I say, "Australoid," I mean simply the race of people descended from either Australia or the surrounding islands. They are similar in appearance to African Negroids due to similar climate, but they are certainly not the same, and I would not cluster them together.

To me, Sailor and the woman from Bougainville look African/Black. I'm not familiar with Australoids at all. Genetically they are different, right?

Race is either genetic or social. You claimed race wasn't a social construct, so that leaves the genetic side of things. You furthermore used circular logic in defining it- literally using a word to describe it self. It always amuses me how some folks on this forum speak so matter-of-factly when they evidently don't know wtf they're on about lol.

^ That is basically how it goes. Its always the posters that show up here who are barely interested in DNA that make the argument. Not really knowing what they are talking about and unable to form an argument using technical terms. When you ask them to basically break down what they are trying to say its silence or studdering.

Read my words again. They were not edited. I said that race is a social construct rooted in biology. If you need further clarification, then I will provide it.

Yes, Australoids are most certainly different from Negroids, in spite of the similar appearance. Australoids are about as distantly related from Negroids as Japanese are from Negroids. In evolutionary biology, they call this phenomenon "convergent evolution." Distantly related taxons have similar adaptations, perhaps due to similar environments. Bats and flying squirrels are an example.

If it's rooted in biology, why are you having so much trouble defining genetic race? It's the genetic side of things that are in contention, not the social.
