Its not a good geographic label when we are speaking on where things and people ORIGINATE.

When people get to talking about Ancient populations they mix the two up.
If for instance this skeleton and others at Gobero are a perfect example of Niger Kordofanian's Southern Saharan ancestors, then its incorrect to think of their morphology and genotype as "Sub-Saharan". It doesn't help up when we are talking about where people come FROM.

This is the point i was trying to stress with @NassBean . This sample could be full of Ancestral Northern African (ANA).
Meanwhile people butthurt about its morphology was just talking about how that morphology is "New" to North Africa. As far as I am concerned Tenerian and Kiffian of Gobero could BOTH be full of ANA (or not) and clowns will be claiming one but not the other due to "Muh Caucasoid". These lables are LESS than useless when it comes to looking at African substructure and how its spread along multiple diverse phenotypes, many of which no longer exist.

    Great contributions to the topic!
I take the position that along with Western Eurasians, NA by default had populations that would be consistent with groups that we today refer to as certain Nilo-Saharan speakers & groups closely related to Senegambians. Based on the studies you're presenting, there was basically an Archaic African or Isolated type (genetically distinct) that once flourished in those regions? No?
