Black is a word used by the west to refer to the negro race.
Arabic Equivalent to it is "Zenji" which also refer to the negro race.
I don't think authentic west africans called themselves "Negros or blacks"
You are a victim of our (Eurasian) Naming of your people and now you are feeling desperate but in a wrong way because
you want to project your issues on others.

It is what it is , do you mean you want Indians, dark skinned arabs to identify as black ? is that what you mean ?
That won't happen, because we Identify what we are, and we are different from the negro race. from whom this words was given in first place.
We don't care about what American corrupted culture think about us.

    I hope that was clear.

I mean yea like most racial terms. And as for as "Black" phenotype depends because individual ideas on it varies. People who don't believe "Black" people can be diverse would say this is the TRUE Black phenotype. These Senegalese wrestlers here.

Now when it comes to me here is how I see it and I wanted to use this collage as it helps illustration.

Now before you come at my neck note that not all the women listed identify as "Black" on a constant basis. But anyways these women's phenotype fit inside the "range" of Blackness some fitting directly at the center while some being at the edge. However, if any of them "identifies" as "Black" especially in the West then they are Black but if the ones on the edge especially don't consider themselves "Black" then yea they aren't Black. Again yes, its a social construct but you have to fit in the "range" first(i.e indignous African ancestry+high melanin). Hope I explained it. "Black" phenotype imo can vary with their being subgroups such as "Negroids." I know you're gonna disagree with this but again its a social construct and depends on if the individual chooses to describe themselves as Black.

Which is why they aren't "Black" to majority of people.

    Noted.

So you use a Cushite identity?

Black is used in a variety of different ways, and it has nothing really exclusively to do with looks in the USA. Its social to a degree but also based on looks. "Passers".....those who look "white" but had known black ancestors were considered black in the USA under the WHITE man-created one drop rule. It was not created for people who had/have visible African ancestry, it was created for those who look "white" visibly.

In this group, Black to most means looking like a "True Negro" is the most extreme stereotypical sense, or for people from West and Bantu Africa, in that case its all about the physical and not about the social. To Aframs its more social than physical, but a mix of both to be honest.
