Little pieces, no bigger than half a finger.

In the past, I'd normally use those fancy lures or other types of live bait, until one day I was fishing with some cousins and we ran out, all that was left was some leftover uncooked hotdogs. Decided to give it a shot, maybe 20 minutes later, I caught a relatively big catfish(around 15 pounds), been using hot dogs ever since and they keep working for me.

Really? Wow I would never thought of that. I didn't know fish would eat cheese.

When I was a kid I was at a babysitters and they had a tank of fish. I thought the fish looked unhealthy so I gave it my glass of milk. I poured it into the fish tank. I was told I killed the fish. Dairy isn't good for fish.

I go fishing on some occasions. I use fishing rods to fish on lakes, rivers, sea shores. In the past I ice fished. Make a hole in the ice and fish using a line.

I like many kinds of fish. I will mention two. Both don't live in my home country.

European smelt (Osmerus eperlanus). This is a small highly prized fish in north European countries. It lives on the shores of Baltic and Northern seas.

In North Germany smelt is traditionally rolled in rye flour and then fried in butter with bacon. In Saint Petersburg smelt is known as a special local delicacy. Many Russian cities and Palanga (Lithuania) hold celebration of smelt each year attracting many people. The smelt is usually fried but also stewed, smoked, dried, pickled.

Another fish is Muksun. The muksun (Coregonus muksun) is a type of whitefish widespread in the Siberian Arctic waters. It travels up Siberian rivers for spawning. Muksun is a delicacy. It's not permitted to fish Muksun in many areas. In some areas a small number of fish per person. Siberian arctic areas are so remote that people fish as many fish as they want.

That’s generally only good for fresh water fish, right?

I only ever heard of cheese for bait when playing Red Dead Redemption 2 lol
